Terrorism Cover for businesses
The devastation, both physical and emotional, from the havoc inflicted on 22nd July by the Oslo bomb blast and cold blooded gunning down of innocent and mainly young people just goes to show how unpredictable and often unstable our world is today.
The media is constantly reminding us of the potential for terrorist activity but few predicted home grown atrocities such as these. It demonstrates how unpredictable the world really is. Few people bother to insure their assets against terrorism unless they’re in a “target area”
The recent remembrance events for the 9/11 attacks on the USA has reminded us of the awful devastation that occurred, not just to thousands of lives but to hundreds of businesses too. If you look closely at many business insurance policies you’re likely to find that Terrorism is excluded.
Norway was considered to be low risk, as indeed many areas of the UK are, but even if you’re not directly affected by physical damage the knock-on effect to any business can be catastrophic with access becoming a problem or people simply staying away from the area.
The threat is constant and unpredictable and a terrorist strike really can be anywhere. As with all insurance you need to weigh up the cost versus the risk but we can help you with a cost benefit analysis to help you decide.
